1.THE WESTIN ST. JOHN RESORT
Preserve, Protect and Educate, is the motto that the Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park goes by. When you are visiting St. Johns, Friends of the VINP would love it if more people would volunteer their time to help them save the national park. If you stay at The Westin in St. John’s they will even give you a resort credit for volunteering. The resort will even schedule complementary transportation as well. You can help clear walking trails, preserve ruins and remove garbage and debris from the beautiful beaches.
2. Los Suenos Marriott Ocean & Golf Resort
Los Suenos Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort is located between the Pacific Ocean and the rain forest. The Red Macaw Project has been an on going thing for quit some time now. Costa Rica is trying to preserve the Red Macaw in their rain forests. The volunteers are trying to create a habitat for local birds and wildlife. If you chose to help out, you may want to help plant a tropical almond tree. These trees are a favorite nesting tree for the birds. And, better yet you do not even have to leave the resort to do this, the tress are being planted on the resort and golf course.
PUPPIES!!!! Yes I said puppies, on your honeymoon! This cant get any better, but it can! Turks and Caicos has a ton of stray dogs. Regent Palms have partnered with a local dog rescue that will allow couples to play with rescue dogs, take them to the beach, transport the dogs to a new family or you may even adopt a pup of your own. The name of the dog rescue is called Pot Cake Place in Providenciales.
