Sometimes when one dreams they dream about the most unrealistic things. There are a few surreal places around the world that look like they do not truly exist, almost like you would see it in a dream…..

The Wave, Arizona

The Wave is a Sandstone rock formation that is located on the Arizona Utah Boarder. It is a very famous place for hikers to reach. The terrain to get to The Wave, is very rugged and quite the hike. It may be also a little difficult to find because there are no marked trails, so bring your compass or GPS with you! It also requires a permit or a day pass to hike to colorful sandstone rock.

 Huanglong, Sichuan

The Chinese word Huanglong translates into “yellow dragon”. This scenic area is located in the northwest part of China. The historical  region is best known for the colorful pool that were created by calcite deposits. There is also a forest, snow peaks, waterfalls and hot springs in the area as well. When you are visiting Huanglong you may see some endangered species such the Giant Panda or Golden Snub-nosed Monkey.

 Mono Lake, California

Mono Lake is very unique, there are high levels of salts because there is no outlet to the lake. The lake formed over 750,000 years ago and the salts in the lake make the water alkaline. When visiting the lake you will find shrimp and a ton of migratory birds. There are hiking trails along the way and also a great campground to stop off  at for the night! The views of the lake and the mountains are just painfully beautiful.

 Giant’s Causeway, Ireland

If you are vacationing in northern Ireland, stopping at Giant’s Causeway is a must! There are a little less than 50,000 connecting columns that were formed during an ancient volcano eruption. The columns formed stepping stones that start on a cliff and continue to go under the sea. Some of the columns reach about 40 feet high! The rumor is a giant built the columns!

Great Blue Hole, Belize

The Great Blue Hole was formed during the ice age and when water levels were much lower. This huge sinkhole is very popular to scuba divers. Divers are flocking to the underwater cave to dive into the clear waters to see several fish species and sometimes even a shark may be swimming through there. Usually, there are full day trips to the Great Blue Hole in the local towns!
